Notice of Accommodation Tax in Takayama

Thank you very much for your continued patronage.

We would like to inform you that from October 1, 2025, Takayama City will introduce an Accommodation Tax for overnight stays.

Tax amount is calculated based on the room charge per person per night:

Less than 10,000 yen: 100 yen per person per night

10,000 to less than 30,000 yen: 200 yen per person per night

30,000 yen or more: 300 yen per person per night

Important notes:

The tax applies to stays starting on or after October 1, 2025.

The tax is based on the room rate only; meals such as breakfast and dinner are not included.

Children aged 12 and under are exempt from this tax.

If you made your reservation before October 1, the tax will still apply if your stay is on or after that date.
